Critical Software Commended for Promoting Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Critical Software’s recognition from the MindForward Alliance reflects our work in recruiting, training and integrating those on the autism spectrum into our workforce.

We're honoured to have been selected from a fantastic selection of valuable mental health initiatives from around the globe.

In 2021, Critical Software was a pioneer, founding the first Neurodiversity Programme in Portugal. Within 3 years, over 20 neurodiverse people have been hired and other Portuguese companies have joined this movement, such as Critical Techworks and NOS

Catarina Fonseca, the Neurodiversity Programme Coordinator, stated: “It’s amazing to see our Neurodiversity programme being distinguished by MindForward Alliance, among so many valuable projects and initiatives. This is an international recognition and an important validation of the efforts we’ve been making at Critical to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. The Neurodiversity Programme is not just about integrating talent into our teams, but is also the first step towards making the society around us more inclusive and empathetic. It fosters a culture of understanding, breaks down stereotypes about autism, and celebrates diversity.”

The Promoting Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion category of the Global Thriving at Work Awards recognises employers who:

  • Embed the mental health of their employees into their broader inclusion agenda
  • Provide access, support and education around mental health specific to the differing needs and contexts of diverse groups
  • Offer opportunities for safe spaces to hear experiences, perspective and needs from a range of different groups
  • Build a programme of work or introduce initiative to address specific needs or respond to a particular challenge relating to equity, diversity and inclusion
