Critical Software Wins “Significant Investor Award” at the DIT Business Awards
Critical Software was honoured with the “Significant Investor Award” at the 2022 DIT Business Awards by the UK Department for International Trade in Portugal.
The award recognises the international technology company’s expansion and consolidation in the UK market over a period of almost two decades. Over that time, the company has worked with high-profile clients in industries as diverse as energy, transport, and aerospace. Recent large-scale projects have involved work on Great Britain’s smart meter rollout, one of the largest ever infrastructure projects in the country.
The prestigious awards recognise the outstanding efforts of Portuguese companies that have successfully invested in the UK, as well as the success of British companies investing in Portugal. This year’s awards were presented on behalf of the British government by Chris Barton, HM Commissioner for Trade in Europe, and Christopher Sainty, HM Ambassador to Portugal.
“Winning the Significant Investor Award is a real honour, recognising many years of effort, investment and dedication to our UK clients, employees and communities”, said Bernardo Patrão, Director of Critical’s Smart Technology Solutions division.
“Our UK presence has grown from relatively humble beginnings back in 2004 to where we are today. Many of our employees have been with us for a large part of that journey – and the close, long-standing relationship between Portugal and the UK continues to play a big part in our success.”
2022 marked the twelfth edition of the DIT Business Awards, which were held at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Lisbon on 10th March.
