As part of Critical’s mission to positively impact communities across the world, we are proud to announce that we have become investors in GoParity, the Lisbon-based startup that facilitates crowdlending for companies looking to finance sustainability projects.
GoParity connects investors to many exciting social and environmental projects – in Portugal and across the world. These projects range from protecting marine biodiversity to ways of better measuring and cutting carbon footprints – and everything in between. To date, six million euros have been raised for projects with positive sustainability impacts.
GoParity’s passion for sustainability, making the world a better place and making an impact beyond borders resonated with Critical’s own sense of purpose. The investment further builds on an existing relationship that saw Critical support the Tech4Covid19 initiative last year alongside GoParity.
Gonçalo Quadros, Chairman of Critical Software, commented: “Critical is more than a business. We are a community with the goal of doing our part to help make the world a better place. Investing in GoParity is a great opportunity for us to join forces with a young, innovative team with the potential to make a real difference. We're looking forward to many great projects that have the potential to support important sustainability goals across the world.”
Nuno Brito Jorge, Founder and CEO of GoParity, said: “We’ve known Critical for a long time. We share a common vision of a more democratic, sustainable and humane economy and society – and a commitment to making a positive impact. Critical brings an entrepreneurial spirit, technological knowledge and an international presence that will make us more powerful in achieving our mission.”
With the backing of companies like Critical Software, GoParity plans to actively expand its impact, democratising access to funding and investment opportunities in support of sustainable development projects across Europe and the world.
