Critical Software’s platforms, Karvel and Lighthouse, will complement Turion Space’s satellite capabilities and innovation.

We have teamed up with the US-based Turion Space in a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening our operations in the space sector.

“This partnership is a huge step for Turion Space,” says Ryan Westerdahl, co-founder and CEO of Turion Space, expressing his confidence in this collaboration. Ryan also highlights that “Critical Software’s experience in integrated systems is unparalleled, and working with them accelerates every aspect of our business.”

Turion Space is a space sector company based in California, focused on addressing some of the most pressing challenges in the field, including off-planet imaging. Turion's innovative engineering solutions, including the Droid-01 satellite and the StarFire operating system, set a new standard for dual-use technologies in the low Earth orbit (LEO) economy.

Rodrigo Pascoal, Business Development Director for the Space Industry at Critical Software, points out that “The New Space Age is an exciting frontier, and our partnership with Turion Space accelerates our entry into this dynamic sector. The combination of our experience in critical mission software with Turion’s innovative satellite technologies allows us to tackle complex challenges in the field of space knowledge and off-Earth imaging. This collaboration also strengthens our expansion plans into the US market, driving our vision for a more connected and sustainable outer space.”

Additionally, Critical Software will utilise its Karvel and Lighthouse platforms to complement Turion’s solutions. Karvel facilitates the development of LEO (Low Earth Orbit) missions and beyond, promoting activities such as proximity manoeuvres and space debris removal. On the other hand, Lighthouse is a new, user-centred mission control system based on digital twinning concepts, to support all engineering and operational mission cycles.

With Turion's expertise, we also plan to launch our own research and development satellite, reinforcing our commitment to innovation in the space sector.

The partnership with Turion Space is seen as a key to further expanding our global market presence, particularly in the competitive US market. The investment in this sector aligns with our mission to contribute to a safer and more sustainable space environment.
