Companhia do Estudo is on the lookout for volunteers for the 3rd edition of their program. We're shaking things up with a new English mentorship class open to volunteers that don’t speak Portuguese. Join us as we continue smashing social inequalities through education! Applications for Companhia do Estudo are now open, and all interested volunteers can submit their applications until 30th September, right here

LPTlabs is also on board, joining forces with Critical Software, Bluepharma, Critical Techworks, Nest Collective, and Present Technologies

‘For us, it's incredibly important to keep the doors of Companhia do Estudo open to as many young minds as possible. That's why, in this third edition, we've set out to expand the program to young individuals whose mother tongue isn't Portuguese. Our dedicated volunteers are eager to take on this challenge. Our goal is to keep inspiring and motivating these children and young people to build a better future, surpassing barriers and borders,’ says Patrícia Garcia, the driving force behind the Companhia do Estudo initiative.

From north to south, our programme reached 25 schools in 2022 and is now blasting beyond borders with our new English mentoring class!

Susana Santos, from the People Team at Critical Software, wanted to make a positive impact on society and found in Companhia do Estudo the perfect way to accomplish that. ‘We all come from different contexts and face distinct challenges, but we can all contribute to change. I felt that I could and needed to make a difference in someone's life. We didn't all grow up in the same environment, with the same opportunities. But that doesn't define our potential. Often, all it takes is for us to know someone who truly believes in our capabilities’, emphasises the professional who started volunteering by mentoring a child in year 3 at school. Together, they've already completed two academic years.

From mentoring to making dreams a reality, Companhia do Estudo has gone from strength to strength and has evolved to rest on four pillars to support kids and young adults in chasing their ambitions!

Driven by the desire to see young individuals thrive and overcome barriers, Ricardo Almeida, Programme Manager at Critical Software, joins the volunteer team year after year. ‘In one of the recent workshops I led, one of the kids turned back and loudly exclaimed, "In 3 years, I'm going to be your colleague!" I was overjoyed to have successfully shown them that their future depends on their own initiative and that there are companies (like Critical Software) that believe everyone deserves a chance.’
