Giving shape to one of the strategic vectors in the development strategy within the African Continent, Gonçalo Quadros, Critical Software's Chief Executive Officer signs two cooperation protocols with Mozambican Universities on March 4th. Critical Software's CEO, making the best of being on the business entourage that accompanies the Portuguese Prime-Minister's official visit to Maputo, will sign agreements that entail the company's participation in the formation of Mozambican engineers, cooperation in the outlining of curricular programmes, holding educational workshops and providing end-of-course internships.
Critical Software considers a keystone in the success it has been achieving in its internationalization strategy, the pursuit of a sense of complete integration in the social-economic context of the countries that welcome Critical. The transmission of technology and know-how in the countries in which it is present, which results in the development of skills within the members of their academic and business milieu is, once again, the strategy taken by the Portuguese company when setting up operations in Mozambique. This is "the reason why the company has been trying to approach the leading Mozambican Universities, by getting involved in, among other aspects, the effort for engineering formation", states Gonçalo Quadros.
Critical Software has since 2001 maintained an active presence in Maputo, having involved itself in most dynamic sectors of its economy. Nowadays, Critical is one of the most relevant participants in I.T within Mozambique, proving technological solutions for some of the most prestigious Mozambican organizations, as TDM, mCel, BCI, the Maputo Municipal Council, the Finance Ministry and Petrogal Mozambique.
"Our presence in Mozambique is one of our cornerstones for strategic development: maximization of exports. Mozambique is a very beautiful and welcoming country, and has excellent conditions for a strong and sustained economic growth, and Critical Software wants to be an integral part of that development", underlines Critical Software's CEO.
"We are putting your business plan for Mozambique in motion. It includes the establishment of a company under Mozambican law, consolidating our position in the local markets of 'Telco', Banking, Public Administration, Energy and Utilities and allying ourselves with leading Mozambican Institutions. All is going according to plan and we think that Mozambique has the conditions to have a Critical Software engineering centre for the telecommunication sector, positioned not only to serve the local market, but also the markets from neighbouring countries, part of the Southern African Development Community," explains Rui Pereira de Melo, Critical Software Mozambique's Manager.
